Overview

BadgeNotify is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. Most badge browsing features work without creating an account. Some optional features, such as saved badges, muted badges, browser notifications, or external community links, may require limited technical data.

Data processed when visiting the website

When you load BadgeNotify pages, our hosting infrastructure may process:

• IP address
• browser/user agent
• requested URL
• timestamp
• basic server logs
• technical error logs

Purpose: site delivery, security, abuse prevention, debugging, reliability.

Saved badges and muted badges

Saved and muted badge preferences may be stored locally in the browser using localStorage. This helps remember which badges the user saved or muted without requiring an account.

Browser notifications

Browser notifications require user permission. Users can revoke notification permission in their browser settings at any time.

Twitch embed and external links

The website may embed or link to Twitch, Discord, TikTok, Instagram, and X. When users interact with those services, the privacy policies of those platforms apply.

Analytics

BadgeNotify does not currently use third-party analytics unless configured and disclosed here.

Cookies / local storage

BadgeNotify may use technically necessary local storage for saved preferences. Optional analytics or notification-related storage will only be used where configured and appropriate.

Legal bases

• legitimate interest for secure website delivery and abuse prevention
• consent for optional browser notifications or optional analytics
• contract/pre-contractual steps only if user-requested features require it

Retention

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and reliability. Local saved badge data remains in the user's browser until cleared by the user.
